I selected the welding mask because it represents my interest in industrial history. Growing up in a textile mill town in Ontario I have long been fascinated by our industrial past and how things have been made. The history of North Vancouver has a rich industrial past represented in the NVMA’s artifact and archival collection.
What I Do:
As Curator I am responsible for the maintenance and documentation of the museum’s rich and varied artifact collection, and using those artifacts to tell diverse and compelling stories of North Vancouver’s history.
What I Bring:
History is my passion, and bringing a community’s history to life through public history has been the focus of my professional career since completing my PhD in History in 2009.
What I Enjoy About North Vancouver:
Since moving to British Columbia from southwestern Ontario in 2013, I am still awed daily by the landscape where the mountains meet the ocean.
