Norfolk Jacket and Jodphurs

By the 1920s, conventions for women no longer required skirts, bloomers and long sleeves. Female mountaineers commonly wore jodhpurs, shirts, and jackets. The khaki wool suit shown here was purpose-made for hiking and was owned by an Alpine Club of America member. The Norfolk jacket and jodhpur breeches were stylish, practical and sturdy, as were the high boots with waterproof soles and military heels.
