Dining With China

It took some effort to make a comfortable dining tent for the summer camps. The tent frame, dining table and “benches” (bare poles, really) are here constructed from hand-hewn trees and branches. In the old days, most dining equipment was metal. At this 1917 camp, diners are taking tea from china cups. Imagine being the lucky soul chosen to pack those up the mountain, not permitting any breakage.
