Pictures of Service

Charles Chapman, second from the right, loved mountains, delighted in poetry, and was an avid photographer. On an expedition to explore the Seymour River in 1909, Chapman brought along his camera, and volumes of verse including the recently published “Songs of the Sourdough” by Robert Service. Back home, Chapman assembled an album of photographs he had composed to illustrate Service’s poetry.
