The Red Shack

Some local Vancouverites so enjoyed getting into the wilds that, in 1906, they constructed the "red shack" as crude accommodation on the lower slopes of Grouse Mountain. For a few years, it was a popular base for local mountain excursions and for nights in the wilderness. The shack hosted many the memorable evening as outdoors companions spiced their meals by swapping accounts of high adventure and planning their forays.
